we are soooo excited..we can't believe we are finally at the point we are actually finally going to china..packing is getting sticky..we can only take 2 suitcases..so I am trying to fit all 3 of us into both suitcases...wish me luck...apparently diapers and formula weight alot..lol..gary and I were up until after 1 am packing her doll, bottles, toys and clothes...its so unreal and we are so excited.
anyways..we wanted to let everyone know that we appreciate every one's support and prayers as we get ready to leave..both our families and the neighbors are very happy for us...and we are very excited too..we haven't slept in a week..and probably will never sleep again !! lol..

we will leave here Tuesday at 6 am and arrive in China at 2:20 pm there time (which will be 2:20 am your time)..they say the best way to get over jet lag is to not go to bed and adjust right to their time, so they have all kinds of things planned for us. we decided to go a few days early to experience a tour of Beijing and we are going w/ 2 other couples in our group. the rest of the families will meet us on the weekend then we will all stay together to travel to get the babies and then from that point on we will all be together. Once our guide gets us from the airport on Wednesday we will check in to our hotel in Beijing, we will be staying at the Huandao Boya Hotel in Beijing which they say is a 5 star very traditional Chinese style hotel (just in case you want to google it, it looks really nice)... any ways after we check into the hotel we will go to the Olympic Village and then to Wangfujing Street and then a tea shop to see how they make traditional Chinese tea. On Thursday we will go to Beihai Park to see Tai Qi and hear singing in the park, then we will visit Tian An Men Square, Forbidden City, Hutong tour on Pedicab and then a Chinese massage and dinner..(not bad)...Friday we will see the Great Wall and Ming Tombs, then go tour some kind of factory and then go to a Kung Fu show in the evening. Saturday we will see the Emperors summer palace then then go shopping at the pearl market, then we have Peking duck Banquet (wish me luck w/ that one)...Sunday we will go to the silk market and we leave that even to fly to Katie's province of Nanchang.. we should be getting to her on Monday 9/21/09, which is exactly 2 months from the date of our referral (when we got her picture).
our neighbor next door is a trooper and she came over this weekend and put Katie's car seat in for us, she did a really good job..I have never seen a baby seat fastened in so tight in my life..that puppy is not going anywhere..so we have a good piece of mind about that..then last night the Calhoun's across the road had us over for meatloaf dinner and awesome chocolate cake for dessert...I would consider this my last meal...maybe Katie will let me share her Cheerios !!
